Update
Earlier this month, we had Chiana tested again. After her last incredible drop, we were cautiously optimistic. Unfortunately, those hopes were dashed. The latest results show not only is she back in the progressive range, but her numbers are higher than before.

Analysis
We were baffled by the sudden increase in Chiana’s viral load. One possibility is that the regressive result from August was inaccurate, as excluding it forms a more consistent pattern of progression. Additionally, we’ve always known Chiana might be underdosed. At 14 lbs, her optimal raltegravir dosage is closer to 400 mg/day, but the cost of this higher dose is prohibitive.
Next Steps
- Continue the current 200 mg/day dosage.
- If her numbers rise again, explore alternative medications with better cost-effectiveness for appropriate dosing.
