Update
Every time we take Chiana in for testing, we hope her viral load will go down. Once again, it’s gone up. It’s so frustrating to see those numbers creeping up slowly.
Test Results
Date | Status | Viral Load |
---|---|---|
4/19/24 | Progressive | 9.31 x 10⁶ = 9,310,000 |
Note: Dose Increased to 150 mg/day on 4/25/24 | ||
6/11/24 | Progressive | 13.52 x 10⁶ = 13,520,000 |
Analysis
Her weight has also gone up—she’s now almost 16 pounds! We’re still thinking there might be a correlation between her weight, dosage, and viral load. I’ve attached the test results above.
Yet, there’s still so much to be thankful for: Chiana is alive and acting like a typical, “ADHD” Maine Coon. She’s always been asymptomatic, and I’m eternally grateful for that.
We’re glad too that as she gets older, she keeps beating the odds that were stacked against her early on. I also hope these posts can help others in their battles with FeLV.
Next Steps
- Increased her dosage again on 6/19/24 to 200 mg per day (100 mg twice a day).
- Plan to have her tested again in August.
